At Smartlife, we are committed to sustainability as a core value, aligning our actions with the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). We prioritize SDGs related to Industry, Innovation, and Infrastructure (SDG 9), Responsible Consumption and Production (SDG 12), and Climate Action (SDG 13).
This commitment drives us to improve our processes and implement practices that benefit both the environment and our community.
To achieve our sustainability goals, we have adopted several key measures. One of the most important is the promotion of remote work, which allows our team members to work from various regions, thereby reducing the carbon footprint associated with commuting and fostering an inclusive work environment. Thanks to this policy, our team enjoys a better quality of life, optimizing time use and reducing environmental impact.
Additionally, we prioritize the use of low-energy-impact technologies in all our projects. Our design and sales teams are committed to implementing automation systems and technologies that minimize energy consumption and carbon emissions. In terms of procurement, we select suppliers that offer sustainability-certified equipment, ensuring that every component of our projects is efficient and environmentally friendly.
Digitalization and Waste Reduction
Another key aspect of our sustainable practices is reducing paper usage. For over seven years, we have migrated our internal processes to digital platforms, managing information in the cloud to minimize our reliance on paper. This measure has allowed us to reduce waste and contribute to respecting ecosystems in all our activities.
Partnerships for a Sustainable Future
Our commitment to sustainability goes beyond our own operations. We strive to form partnerships with companies specializing in environmental projects, aiming to generate green bonds and participate in sustainability programs aligned with our identity. Through these collaborations, we aspire to build a culture of sustainability throughout the company and foster positive change within our industry.
Resources and Training for Sustainability
To ensure the success of these initiatives, we have allocated specific resources, including a budget for maintaining virtual platforms, training in sustainable practices for our staff, and support for external projects that share our ecological vision. Starting in January 2025, we will conduct training for our teams on the principles of responsible design and purchasing, ensuring that every decision we make supports our sustainability ideals.
Internal Responsibility and Commitment
At Smartlife, we believe that sustainability depends on the commitment of each team member. Therefore, any breach of these principles will be addressed seriously and in accordance with the company’s internal regulations. Sustainability is an essential part of our mission, and we expect all our collaborators to share and embody these values in their daily work.
In addition to our sustainability initiatives, at Smartlife we have established two additional branches of social responsibility to contribute to community well-being and environmental care.
Corporate
Through a partnership with Compuambientes, we donate unused technology equipment. This organization is responsible for the proper disposal of these devices, either by distributing them to institutions in need or recycling them responsibly. This program allows us to extend the life cycle of our equipment and reduce the environmental impact of electronic waste.
Internal "Tapitas para Sanar"
In this initiative, all Smartlife employees collect and donate plastic caps every quarter, contributing to the Tapitas para Sanar campaign. Additionally, we keep an annual count of the collected caps and offer incentives to the top three employees with the highest contribution nationwide.
